Dr. Rajesh Patel Recognized by Advocate South Suburban Hospital.
It may not have been presented in the traditional manner, but Dr. Raj Patel of Associated Urological Specialists was recognized recently by the board of Advocate South Suburban, for his nine years of service to the Hospital’s Governing Council.
The recognition was presented online during a Zoom meeting, as the board met in this way for safety reasons during the COVID-19 pandemic. Never-the-less, the honor still carried the same amount of esteem for Dr. Patel, President and Chief Medical Officer at Associated Urological Specialists, even if it wasn’t presented in person.
Dr. Patel addressed the unique delivery. “The Covid crisis forced many of the administrative staff to work remotely but they made their presence felt through out the organization with their tireless efforts to work through the challenges of the crisis. They collaborated with the medical staff to create solutions to address the daily changes we faced with the Covid crisis.”
Ronald Shropshire, Chairman of the Board commented on the presentation. “I’ve had the privilege and enjoyed working with Raj Patel, MD over these past nine years on the Advocate South Suburban Hospital Governing Council,” Shropshire said. “A dedicated physician, Raj brought his vast medical knowledge and business acumen to the hospital board ensuring our growth and clinical excellence. We are grateful to have physician leaders, like Dr. Patel engaged in the governance of our institution. Thank you for your commitment and devotion to South Suburban Hospital.”
“It’s both a pleasure and honor to service on the Advocate South Suburban board,” Dr. Patel replied. “The board truly embraces the needs of the patients, the hard working staff at the hospital and the medical staff.”
Even with the many uncertainties that are present in healthcare today, Dr. Patel noted, “I look forward to continue working with the Governing council to support their progress. As the (Hospital’s) President Rashard Johnson says, ‘We are just getting started!!’”
