Valerie Walter, PT, DPT joins AUS

Associated Urological Specialists is proud to announce Valerie Walter, PT, DPT, is now the first full-time physical therapist in the company’s long history of helping urological patients. Valerie will be dedicated to delivering pelvic floor therapy for their overactive bladder (OAB) patients. Valerie will be working from both the Orland Park, Harlem office as well as our New Lenox office.

“I’m excited to bring pelvic floor physical therapy to AUS,” she says by “expanding the care we can offer and helping patients to access specialized treatment where they already feel supported.”

Valerie is a dedicated pelvic floor physical therapist specializing in bladder, bowel, sexual function, and pelvic pain conditions. With advanced training in pelvic health, she is passionate about helping patients regain confidence, improve function, and enhance their quality of life through evidence-based, compassionate care.

Valerie Walter, Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist

“One of the most meaningful parts of my work,” Valerie notes, “is helping patients understand they don’t have to live with pain, leakage, or pelvic dysfunction as their ‘normal.’ Pelvic health issues are incredibly common, but the good news is that they’re also highly treatable! Many patients come in feeling discouraged after trying multiple approaches without success, and seeing them regain confidence, comfort, and control through pelvic floor therapy is truly rewarding.”

Her individualized approach combines patient education, functional movement, manual therapy, and tailored exercise programs that empower patients to understand and improve their pelvic health. Working alongside our physicians and other advanced practice providers, Valerie provides holistic, empathetic, patient-centered care, creating a supportive environment and personalized treatment plans that enhance daily life and promote long-term pelvic wellness. She will be a vital part of a new patient-centric overactive bladder program.

Overactive Bladder Program at AUS

As a dedicated pelvic floor physical therapist, she specializes in bladder, bowel, sexual function, and pelvic pain conditions. She started her education here in the Midwest at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and then went to The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston to get her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). You can read her bio page here.

Valerie’s approach with patients is simple. “I focus on creating a supportive, open environment where patients feel safe discussing sensitive concerns and empowered by the progress they make. Seeing someone return to the activities that bring them joy without disruption or limitation from pelvic symptoms is what makes this work so meaningful.”
